Mexico is Cancun and something else: Isla de la Pasión

While preparing your vacation in Cancun, Playa del Carmen or Riviera Maya, Cozumel Island will often come up especially if you are organizing some snorkeling and diving activities. What many people do not know is that there exist a little piece of heaven in this amazing island called Isla de la Pasión (or Passion Island).

Isla de la Passion is a small island off Cozumel´s northern coast, with breathtaking views, incredible white sandy beaches, and turquoise Caribbean water. It is an all-inclusive beach gateway and it is really easy to get to it from Cozumel. This amazing spot offers many activities from beach soccer and volleyball to, of course, all of the water related activities that you could possibly imagine. Remember that this is one of the best and world renowned diving destinations. Rest assured you will find everything you can dream of and you can even just relax on a hammock under a palm tree while your kids will be well entertained.

It is a great way to get away from crowds and the busier holiday destinations of Cancun and Playa del Carmen, due to the fact that is basically a private island. It is a fun and different manner to experience the Mexican Caribbean, because it is a one of a kind spot. This small island also features a chappell where weddings are celebrated. Imagine getting married to the love of your life in an open roofed church on the beach while the sun is setting on the horizon.

How to get there

Once you get to Cozumel, you will see a few tour operators that offer the tour to Isla de la Pasión. However, make sure you get there early, in order to be able to spend at least 5-6 hours in this piece of paradise.


Depending on the package you choose, the price is between 45usd-65usd for adults and between 30usd-40usd for kids aged 4-12. Tours normally include transportation, open bar, buffet, kayaks, hammocks and lockers.
